New Recipe Book Tutorial Now Available!

Hello Happy Crafters!

Fun news! I’ve got a brand new 7×7 Chunky Recipe Book tutorial in my Etsy shop using Kaisercraft’s Bon Appetit collection.

This fun mini has five pages, with nice 1/2″ gussets between them, so you can really load it up!

There are policy-style deep pockets on the inside front and back cover. Tons of room for recipe cards, magazine tear outs  and internet recipe print outs.

Each page has a pocket-front fold out…

…that slides out as its own separate folder! Lots of landscape in this mini!

The back of each page also has a wide pocket…this mini will hold SO MANY recipes!

The 7×7 size, with the chunky 3″ spine also makes this a great photo/scrapbook album! The 1/2″ space between pages allows for textured decor on the pages as well!

The digital tutorial  includes all the info to make the foundation, as well as the mat sizes for all of the pattern papers, so you can use any collection you wish!

Check out the video walk-through!

I hope you give this fun recipe mini a try!

Wee Things 2: ATC Book in a Box Tutorial – Now Available!

Hello Happy Crafters!

Excited to share the latest MiniBooksRMe project with you!  This is the second in my Wee Things Series. This is the Wee Things 2: ATC Book-in-a-Box project featuring the new ATC Matchbook Box and ATC Album from Graphic 45 and decorated with Kaisercraft’s amazing Anthology collection!

I’ve had this collection for a while now, waiting for the perfect project. When Graphic 45 announced their new ATC-sized mini album and matchbook box earlier this year, I knew I’d found the perfect combo! Scroll on to see the goodies inside!

One of Graphic 45’s Brand Ambassadors did a project recently where they turned one of the G45’s large matchbook boxes upright to make a unique pull out drawer. I thought that would be adorable with the brand new, ATC-size version, so I adapted it using Graphic 45’s antique drawer pull, and their gorgeous claw feet, and voila!

I never met a botanical-themed paper collection I didn’t love, but Kaisercraft’s Anthology collection is really special. It ticks off all of my favorite botanical boxes! Gorgeous colors, vintage feel, birds, butterflies, and antique drawers.

I had so much fun repurposing this matchbook box. The box size is 4.75” x 5.5” and is 2.75” deep. A perfect wee size for this series of small-scale projects.

What’s more fun than a wee box? A wee box with a wee book tucked inside! This is Graphic 45’s brand-new ATC Rectangle Tag & Pocket album and measures an adorable 4” x 5”. But don’t let the wee size fool you! This little baby is packed!

There are 4 pocket pages, and each one is tucked inside a folder, so plenty of pages and spots for photos and journaling in this pocket-sized mini. Each pocket page has a pocket front & back, and the page is a pocket, too! (Yes, I make max use of them ALL!)

The Anthology collection also comes with a packet of fun die cuts called “Noteables” that were also used in this project. You can sub in any die cuts, cut parts, or embellishments you like, with this collection or any you might be using.

I love all the rich colors. Plenty of fun tuck spots and belly bands have been added so even more tags could be included. (Because, have you met me?) 🙂

I also love that Kaisercraft puts phrases and words on the back sides of their bar code strips. We use a lot of them in this project, too!

Wee Things ATC Book in a Box Digital Tutorial: The tutorial for this is largely decorative and therefore priced accordingly. The tutorial includes the following:

Photo/Instruction File teaching you how to decorate and assemble this project as designed.

Cutting Guide: this gives you both a generic list of all the mats sizes used in this project, so you can substitute any collection you like AND shows you how the Kaisercraft Anthology collection was cut for this project as well.

NOTE: You MUST HAVE the Graphic 45 Matchbook Box & ATC Album to complete the project as shown, but beyond that, you can use any paper collection you wish.

ALSO: I’ve also included the sizes of every part of the foundation as well, for those extra-crafty folks who want to try and make similar foundations on their own. (There are NO instructions included for that, just the

dimensions.)

To Purchase: You can pick up a copy of the tutorial in my MiniBooksRMe Etsy shopl HERE.

I hope you’ll give this fun project a try!

It’s that time of year again! National Scrapbook Day arrives the first Saturday in May each year, so I thought we’d make a long weekend out of it! I’m celebrating by sharing some fun inspiration AND a big digital tutorial sale in my MiniBooksRMe Etsy shop!

First up, some inspiration!

I love seeing what crafters are doing with my tutorials. It’s wonderful to see how the projects look with different papers and your own personal touches. One of my very favorite things is opening mail to find a bunch of happy, crafty photos. (Yes, please send me yours, too!)

I want to send a  big thanks to happy crafter Gloria Paar for sending along these amazing photos of her version of my Wee Things Photo Journal. You may remember my version above!

Read on to see how fabulous it looks with Graphic 45’s new Bloom collection AND a fun, fab tip that Gloria passed along as well.

Absolutely stunning!!

Helpful Tip!

Gloria discovered that those little photos taken with your phone and printed with little units like the Canon Ivy are the perfect fit for this project! (There are other “selfie” printers as well.) The pictures are 2″ x 3″ (business card size.) You can also trim down the square 4×4 photos to fit, too!

They’re perfectly WEE!!

Thank you again, Gloria for sharing this stunning version of the Wee Things Photo Journal and that awesome tip! You’ve inspired us all to try new things!

St Louis Weekend of Workshops ~ Class Sample

I’m so excited to share a sneak peek of the class sample I’ll be teaching this fall at the Weekend of Workshops in St. Louis! 6×6 File Folder Mini w/ Pocket Folios & Drop Ins!

I was thrilled to get invited to be a part of this fun craft-class event. I’ve attended another event put on by the Weekend of Workshops coordinator Nancy Wethington as a crafter and had such a great time. So it is doubly exciting to attend now as a guest instructor!

I miss getting to teach classes in person, so for this class project i wanted to create something really special. I decided straight off that I needed a really fun, cheerful, beautiful collection. One of the other instructors will be teaching a Graphic 45 collection project, so I immediately turned to Stamperia and their absolutely adorable Patchwork collection.

Then it was time to sit down and sketch out the project. My File Folder Minis and File Folder Folios have been so popular, I decided to do a fresh take on that with a brand new size. I love this little 6×6 File Folder Mini with a super chunky spine!

But why stop there? The most popular thing I’ve created since launching MiniBooksRMe 16 months ago, has been my series of Drop Ins. I love these fun little elements, created entirely as separate little units, then simply attached to any album page to add interactive fun.  So, I designed two brand new Drop Ins for this mini!

And of course, there are other fun tags and folders tucked inside, too!

But wait! There’s more! (I know! But this paper collection was so darn cute, i couldn’t help myself!) This year I’ve launched a new, limited edition series of Pocket Folios projects and the response to the first release has been AH-mazing! So hey, why not include two brand new Pocket Folios, too? (I told you, this little mini is JAM-packed!)

The basic album design is also a fun, flexible, super functional little mini. In addition to the fun, 1/4″ deep pockets inside the front and back cover, there are two triple-pocket pages included as well.

So many fun little closures and other techniques!

The class kit for this project will be pre-cut for you. We will have a day long seminar together (with a break for lunch) to build this entire foundation.

Drop Ins 1 & 2

All of the pattern and cardstock mats needed to decorate this entire mini, along with all the embellishments, charms, and hardware will also be included. The pattern/cardstock mats will also be pre-cut and stacked/packaged in order of use, so decorating will be a breeze.

My Class Kit will also come with detailed, color photo, step-by-step instructions on how to build the foundation and decorate the mini. So you’ll be all set whether you are a fast-paced maker or a slower-paced, more methodical one. There is cropping time scheduled into the weekend as well, so you’ll have time to fully decorate the mini while you are there. I’ll be there the entire weekend also, and the class sample will be on hand, too.

Every student also receives a full Cutting Guide, just like with my regular tutorials, so you can make this project again (and again!) using your own materials and paper selections. All matting sizes are included, both foundation and decor.

Here is a full video walk-through of the finished project:
